Two bucks!

A couple weeks ago I went to Manuel's, my local auto salvage to pick up a part for my truck. While I was waiting in their lobby for my part to be retrieved, I saw a wall full of stock and after-market radios they were selling. I just had to chuckle because it reminded me of a time I was in that very showroom 15 years ago... Shit I'm old... Anyway, on to the story. I was 17 at the time, thought it would be a nice idea to replace the broken two shaft tape deck in my moms Buick for her birthday. Being a typical clueless 17 year old I had no Idea what the radios cost or what was involved with the install. At any rate, my Buddy Mike and I wander into Manuel's and find the very radio I needed on the shelf, Great! I bring it up to the counter, and ask - How much? The man replies: 'two bucks' Out loud I say, Two bucks and proceed to take two dollars from my wallet and hand it to him. Only to find out 'two bucks' was some slang term for $200. Needless to say I didn't end up with the radio. I don't think I have ever been more embarrassed. Funny the things that trigger memories.
